For any marketing emails, I recommend you use Constant Contact instead of Shopify’s integrated system. The main reason is just how robust Constant Contact is when it comes to email marketing. Their entire platform is dedicated to managing email lists, creating killer emails, and tracking all kinds of analytics. While they will be an extra subscription fee for you to add to the expense list, it’s well worth it in my experience.

One of the best things about Constant Contact (CC) is the ability to integrate directly with your Shopify account, so you can pull all customer emails without having to do any extra work. You can also collect emails on your Shopify site (via a pop-up or sign-up flow) and have that auto-populate to your CC mailing list.

The other main benefit is the sheer breadth and quantity of email templates and the ease of editing for customization. If you’re like me and don’t have a ton of experience designing emails that convert, these templates provide a great starting point. Constant Contact also has all the data from what works for all their users, so I have to think they have a pretty good idea on what converts. The customization tool is super easy to use when personalizing emails for your brand.
